I've heard Eickert is building them too. They are supposed to be really nice from what I've heard.

Gale Banks made a marine set-up years ago. The biggest problem is the heat shielding for the turbo. Plus the marine environment is hell on the turbo housings that are made of alloy. Talk about corrosion. I had to take a cutting torch and cut off all the exhaust manifold studs to get the thing apart. Turbos need a lot of maintenance. When you shut down after a long run.... the turbos "coke" the oil in the center section and then sieze up. NOT GOOD. Automotive applications have a wter cooled center section to avoid this problem. It's pretty hard to circulate raw salt water through those without getting a lot of corrosion.

Carson's stuff seems to be the best.

Eickert has had some very good success with it, and rumor has Tommy at Chief working on some.

How much power is bigyellowcat making and at what boost level? Also, I am curious as to why he chose to use PF Marine/Eickert headers. They are great headers, but they are only 2 inchers.

Believe it or not you don't want the exhaust to expand too much before it reaches the turbo. The smaller headers will help spool the turbo more efficiently.
I would say with the size of his turbos and intercooler 2000 HP is attainable, but would probably take quite a bit of boost to make this number.

Carson Brummett is making reliable 1500+hp efi turbo setups, He owns all the gentry castings and has been perfecting them for the last 10 years. We are running a few of his setups, we have never had any problems with them what so ever. We just upgraded to bigger turbos in a V-Drive schiada we built, the engine makes 1457hp on 100LL fuel, and 1590hp on 115 Race gas, turn key and as reliable as stock power, it's only a 540ci as well.
