Water pressure and thru hull pickup on a pachanga
Anyone have an idea of the water pressure I might be seeing if I have a thru hull water pickup? The pickup is mounted right under the motor and makes a 90 degree torn to go to a belt driven water pump. 2 engines in 4 years says I might have a big problem....
What kind of speed might I be losing as well?
What options are out there to replace this without having to replump the alpha water pump?
22' Sea Ray Pachanga/ 350 Vortec
Thanks,
Ken

I pulled mine out but haven't had a chance to run the boat hard to determine if I picked up any speed.

Thanks for the update. I have a few questions for you if you don't mind.
Did your boat run bow heavy before?
Did you notice the bow running higher now?
What kind of speeds are you running?
My boat runs very bow heavy at 70 the boat is running almost level. At 50 the bow rides pretty normal. I think at higher speeds those things are causing a lot of drag and diping my bow down. My boat should run in the 80's with the power I have but I can only get low 70's out it.
Thanks Rob
