Default Ignition Problem 280ss

Stbd Engine, turn key nothing. Have 12V on Ignition until turn the key, then drops to 0v. If I run a 12V bypass to ignition switch all is well, but obvioisly cant keep it like this. Any help? Thanks..Phil

Default Re: Ignition Problem 280ss

I guess you are refering to an outboard. First place to look is the harness plug or loose conection on the starter solonoid. If you can switch the key switch harness from the other motor that will help isolate the problem. You will get a much better responce on the screamandfly board if that does not work
