Voltage question
This is a new issue that just started. When idle and in gear up to 1500 rpms the volt meter makes quick dips in voltage. When it does this I can hear the motor stumble for a millisecond. Then it's ok. It happens randomly so its not like a motor miss. Also, it goes away after 1500 rpm. Any thoughts on this? I've already replaced the ignition wire from the switch to the ignition module.

Re: Voltage question
I had exactly the same problem. Turned out to be a bad connector in the harness under the dash (it looked fine but was getting hot). It could be any of the connection including the round merc plug. Check voltage at the battery when this is happening too so you can be sure the alt is OK. I put new regulators on mine and didnt need them after I found the bad connector.

Re: Voltage question
update, I re-checked wiring under the dash and a connector was loose. The ignition wire! That fixed the volt meter dropping, but the engine stumble was getting worse. I started at the top of the engine checking everthing. The secondary float was way to high. I was pulling fuel at an idle up to 1200 into the secondaries. From 1200 on it was enough to burn it with no miss. Adjusted and all good now... no stumble.
