I know it beating a dead horse for finding these parts but you never know.. my buddies 1998 fountain with twin 525 sc has destroyed the shaft and coupler in one of his black mercruiser

Causin, try emailing cobra power at www.cobrapower.com . They advertise in the classifieds that they have lots of blowers and probably some parts. The other alternative would be to have a good machinist make up a new shaft. I'm sure it could be done. I know mine makes tortion shafts for race cars and this wouldn't be any harder. He would need the input shaft from the other blower, which shouldn't be problem since the boats not going anywhere until the broken blower gets fixed. It would also be a good time to get both blowers rebuilt. I had a similar problem with one of my B&M 174s. Discovered the input shaft was misaligned and it had spun a bearing. So I had him fix it and the Blower Shop rebuild the blower. Chuck

I broke the same shaft last summer (1998 29 Fever w/ 525SC) and the Blower Shop rebuilt mine no problems... that is until last weekend - spun the rear bearings...

They should be able to rebuild it for him. If not, I know of a guy who may sstill have a complete used 525Sc blower/carb - I think he wants about $1500 for it. LEt me know fi your buddy is interested.
