Default 525efi oil filter???

Anyone know what the fram oil filetr number is for the 525efi? It has a quick silver 35-165950 filter on it now. Would like to go to a fram series.

thanks.. What is the trick to not making a mess when changing this upside down filter? why did mercury put the filter where when you unscrew it every thing has to run out? Can you flip the location around? I like to fill my filter up with oil before installing it, but this puts a stop to that.

Mercury must have some reason ....it is just not apparent to most anyone...you can install a dual remote oil system from Amsoil....then relocate in the position you desire...and have dual filtration which is my favorite.

Before you suck out the oil, poke a couple holes in the filter and let the oil drain down, then suck it all out, no mess at all...Rob
