Default Slip in muffler question

Ok, I got the new EMI thunder system in and the risers ended up past my wishbone, so I installed a set of corsa muffler?/tips. They are not striaght thru. There's a plate inside. Anyways, It sounds great to me but, the boss says no. Could I get a set of slip ins for in front of the corsas? Will it generate to much heat? 460 with a small cam 400hp. The exaust hoses are very warm before the tips. I'm looking at mellowing out the idle "bark". Thanks.
