Default motor heighr on Scarab

boat is a 30" Scarab center console, chine walks at 60MPH , i think my motors are way to deep (9 1/2" from the hull to the nose) motors are 94 Johnson 250HP V8s, boat runs at about 6000-6500 lbs,

Another weird thing is no bracket on my boat, most of these boats had a bracket, maybe the V8s were so heavy they mounted them direct to the stern back then (wellcraft couldn't tell me why) any insight ??

I've never seen a boat NOT perform better with a bracket. Why not buy a couple of adjustable setback/brackets. The manual ones are inexpensive and you can get the boat set up as you like it in an afternoon.

Not sure if it's too deep, never measured one. But most manufactureres will set up boats conservatively, just in case to want more trim control with the 6 kids, 4 coolers, etc in the bow.
Get the manual jack plates, you'll be happy.
