Re: Scoops ??
2 observations.
1) Facing forward will take A LOT of vents to get the air out and prevent the hatch from lifting. Sidways hinging hatches are a safer bet than rear hinging. Found that out on my chris cat.
2) There's alwas someone who will ignore the "No Step" sign on the scoop, so do a little reinforcing before you paint and mount it.

Many of Harwoods scoops are damn near paperthin for automotive racing applications. These won't fair well in an offshore pounding. Harwood does make the marine version, just make sure that's what your looking for.
A little tip: When ordering directly from manufacturers, expect to pay retail. Doesn't matter if it's Livorsi, CMI, Stainless Marine, or Harwood. If you want to pay less. Go to the catalog guys. Eddie Marine, Teague, CP-Performance and yes, even TRICK MARINE.

Wish I would have seen this post three years ago when
I purchased my gauges direct from livorsi only to find out
I was paying to much buying direct.
I purchased Harwood auto scoops from summit
only to find that they would never pass the stand on test.
This does not imply that I like fat women either!
I ended up getting some fiberglass cloth and resin and beefed
them up from underneath.
Been there done that!!!
