Tach Bounce due to magnets??????
I have a customer who says his tach jumps now after installing one of our billet stereo enclosures for the radio. This is the first we have heard of this, just wondering could there be any truth to this.
I all ways believe my customer and will do what ever i can to help and find out an answer.
Our covers come with 4 magnets that keep the cover closed in extreme enviroments, could this cause a tach to jump.
any help would be appreciated

I BELIEVE IT!
Mine juumps around when my cell phone is next to it and it rings. Thought I blew a tranny first time it happened. Needle jumped from 2000 to 4000 when the phone rang. Kind of a cool novelty, now that I think of it.

Could be the truth.. Magnets put off EMF. Electro Magnetic Fields. These fields are induced voltages. If these magnets are close to the gauges, this very well could be the reason for the jump....
