I had 354 hrs on stock 496,s with Wipples 7lbs boost the key to keeping them alive is keep it cool and run good fuel . I ran 10% race fuel when I would have the 7 lb pulley.I also had new heat exchangers made by Sendur 5-1/8 that really helped with the heat soak.My new long blocks have eagle rods maula blower pistons,GM steel cranks crane cam cnc,ed heads by Tyler Crocket .The stock heads cant flow more than 7lbs boost you need the larger valves.The cam, the heads and ecu made 834 hp with cast crank 8.5lbs boost joit venture by Larrys engines and whipple feel free to call me Bob 4127810881 approx 5000.00 complete for heads with studs and rockers thats 2 sets also my stock long blocks have forged cranks 6000.00 for both.

I got some no.s 300 rpm increase at top end 4 mpr with a full tank 6mpr under a half tank . 7lbs boost Im going to bump to 8lbs and turn up the fuel next.Tyler thinks I made 90 hp-120 hp with my set up.Ijust dont know how fast Ican spin those 2.3 Whipples they only make 2 smaller pullys..there starting to make heat
