Default 496 exhaust heat sensor

Well I was doing great on this CMI project until one of my heat sensors decided to seize into the old manifold. I doubt I can get one on a Sunday so is there anyway to short around this thing. ie clip the two wires or tie them together
I just want to get it running enough to check things out.
Thanks

You don't want to short it or leave it disconnected, that would result in Engine Gaurdian mode being activated and Available Power will be reduced to 90%.

You should be able to use a resistor to simulate the sensor. The Merc diagnostic manual lists the sensor resistance at 11.01Kohms at 70 deg F, and 10Kohms at 77 deg F. Thats all the info they give.

I think a 1/2 watt 7.5Kohm resistor would come close to simulating normal operating temps (115 to 135 deg F). You really just want an "in range" resistance that will keep the ECM from seeing a short or open circuit.

Keep in mind that I have not actually tried this, but it should work.

Looks like a trip to Radio shack is in order. Good luck Mike.
Did you get your pipes together?

I gave up and baled hay all day. I hope to have some time over the next few days and maybe I will make the water for some testing by the middle of the week. I found one boat dealer open in all of Indy and they told me that there parts dept. was not open on Sunday. I also need to talk to CMI in the morning. If nothing else they sure look sweet.
