Default Best gasket material for fuel???

Motor gurus -

I have fuel blowing out from where my Whipplecharger mates with my intercooler. Secondary to being a bilge fire waiting to happen, I'm wasting precious boost.

I am going to pull the Whipplecharger this weekend and reseal. Based on your experiences, what is the best gasket material to use?

Doesn't get any better than that.

I am curious though Grog, what have you tried thus far?

I haven't tried anything yet. I didn't do the original Whipple install. Rather than taking it back to the idiots that did, I decided to fix it myself.

The o-ring is a very good idea that I hadn't thought of but I am really afraid of somebody screwing up my $5000 supercharger.

I had a similar problem on a blown ford. After checking that your mating surfaces are flat with a straight edge. Coat both sides of the gasket with hylomar available from autozone etc.

This stuff never sets and was designed by rolls royce for their aero engines. It also limits corrosion when used on intake gaskets around the water ports. Easy to clean off even after years

There is no gasket. Do you still recommend hylomar?

Don't use silicone. Gas will eventually eat it away.

I would try a product called " GOOP " . It can usually be found in hardware stores and costs roughly $6 . I used it to seal my alk/meth injection setup in my supercharged mustangs discharge tube. It is repelent to gas and will hold boost . I see anywhere from 19psi to 22 psi in my sbf depending on how cold it is out so im sure you would have no problem . They have 2 kinds, automotive and household, use the automotive.

Absolutely, still, make sure you are dealing with flat surfaces.
