Question windage tray studs

Ok I just bought big oil pans with pan mounted windage tray .
I need to remove the block mounted existing tray and studs.
Are these studs actually main bearing cap fasteners or threaded into the main bearing cap bolt heads .Should I just cut them down or will they thread out ?

1 peice bolts. Tapped bolts would have made the heads a weak point.
