Why are you not listening to KAAMA and cstraub? Those were the only answers you needed. --- Jer

you looking to pull the motor out or just work with what you got? Lunati also makes a cam that is an upgrade to the 525 SC cam. I have it in my 580's but I would have been better off going with a hyd. roller in hindsight.

Cam requires the motor to come out cause you need to drop the pan.

What about the drives. You've probably got near 600hp now with the 7 lb pulleys and intercoolers. You might be in the new bravo every year crowd with extra hp.
Have you considered boxes. On some deep Vs, boxes, higher X dimension, and moving some weight around is worth 3-4mph.
The 177 is probably at it's limit with that boost and size engine. More boost from a bigger blower will get you more hp, but probably at the expense of engine and drive reliability.
Run those til they're tired, then replace with a blown 502 or 540. Oh yeah, then buy a few extra bravos.

Holley list the 177 up to a 502 CID engine. I would put some stroke to the engines and go .030" which would give you 489 CID. Spend the money on some good coated pistons so you can turn the boost up and let them rip. I would think you could squeeze another 100HP per side with this.

Don't tear those 525's apart...they got good stuff in there.
Just some 8-71's and maybe even hyd. rollers if you want to spend the $.
There could be some speed left in the X Dim...maybe some -1 IMCO lowers too.
But as mentioned... the drives are at their limit.
Fast boats are fun but broken fast boats really suck.

Go with tall deck Dart motors . Stay conservative and make 540's . Also recommend Dart heads. 502 blocks with 4.25" stroke suffer the same problems as 572 Tall deck blocks with 4.5" stroke. It is too much stroke and the piston side loads and premature wear to the block, piston and rings is the end result. I have been told that 5.375 stroke is the limit for a 10.2" tall deck block if durability is expected. That combo would make 555 Cid. Although no where near poor, I am not in the same financial league as any real serious all out ,as fast as your wallet can take you kind of boat owner. I have had the priveledge to work on boats owned by such persons. I also have been advised by machinists who know far more than me. The end result will be running in my boat next season, I have to build things right. I can't afford to buy parts twice, three times etc.(especially when everything blows up catastrophically! ) I didn't launch last year. It's ok . Maybe next year. Got a perfect 540 so far .

how about a pair of 700hp 572's with under 30 hours? im installing 588 blower motors around the first of the year? will take 20k for the pair complete and ready to drop in? deduct what you sell yours for and its a very inexpensive power up grade
