Has anyone ever rebuilt there TRIM PUMP
My trim pump is going out on my bravo one the motor sounds real bad. Has any one ever rebuilt one with any success? And if so what was involved.

I took one apart for a friend once and polished the valves/pistons and it started working better. But ya got to becarefull about the valve screwing them back in the same place . they set the up/down pressure. As far as the electric motor it should be rebuildible ??? I tried it knowing that if it didn't work he was going to have to buy a new one

Thanks for the heads up on the valve. Hopefully I wont need to go there, my problem is with the motor. Works going down but it just clicks when trying to go up. Relays are fine, did the bypass test.

I like the $120 deal. My relays are fine so is the tank and all other hardware. I just was hoping maybe there was a simple fix like a connector are brushes inside motor. I'll just tear into and see. I was just hoping maybe someone else all ready has done it. I was hoping to take the boat out tomorrow.

Just tap on it with a 5/8's wrench that should get it to work some . But it has to be a 5/8's

I had a similar problem with a boat that had twins. One would go down alot faster than the other. Long story short, After replacing trim pump(complete), It was the cylinders that had to be rebuilt. The key was that they had a little more of a load going up. It made the trim pump sound like it was sucking air or something. Good Luck

I got it to work...just needed to clean out the crud in the motor. Should by me a little more time until I get a new one.
