Roccard Marine used my stock lower end, balanced and blue printed w/ APR rod bolts. Its a standard bore 502 with Edelbrock aluminum heads.9.8 to 1 compression.Full roller valve train and an 850 demon carb.Nothing fancy but they seem to know how to pull some great numbers out of their engines.I really didn't think that with a mild combination like this it would be any where near 640 horse. But Mike proved me wrong.I was only shooting for about 525, but I'll take it.I'll see tomorrow how the second engine make out.

Thanks

Re: Winter Project

Here are the results of the second engine from our dyno session today. Not bad with them within about 3.4 horse of each other at 5800 rpms and 7 ftlbs torque at 4700 to 4800 rpms.Have to give two thumbs up to Roccard Marine for a great job with the complete project from start to finish.

Thanks to all the guys at Roccard Marine,Mike,Bob,Lou,and all the other guys I didn't get to meet personally.

Unbelievable Anthony. I cant believe all the work you have done so far. Im not an engine guy at all, but those #'s seem out of whack for the work done. that is over 200 hp difference !! If those numbers are true, youd better upgrade those drives. Bravos will not last with that kind of Hp. I dont care how much you baby them, It will only be a matter of time before they let go, Like the day you go on vacation

Hey Bob,

Those numbers are true.We upgraded the valve train to a full roller with roller rockers and all. That alone is worth 30-40 horse and plus a much larger cam.I also went with Edelbrock aluminum heads and they claim 75-100 horse over stock besides the 40lbs per head weight savings.Comp. ratio was raised to 9.8 and full engine was balanced and blue printed.I am in the process of ordering HP transoms and XR drives.I hope this will work out to be a reliable and fast combo.I may never get my money out of it but I think if people see a new drive train it may raise the value when it comes time to sell.
