hey prater, i'm looking to do the same thing. i had a perfect teak platform left over from my old '79 377; basically gave it away at a garage sale 4 years ago. now i want to get rid of the "modern" metal platform and redo one in teak, just no luck around the portland oregon area for reasonably priced teak- maybe rlw's link will help- good luck! jeff

I found this supplier and he responded back with this message...

www.globalteak.net

I would like to inform you that we are one of the cheapest and the largest importers in the USA.

When you specify the teak in the future, please specify the application also. The teak price varies from $3 per bd ft to $50/bd ft depending on the species origin and the type of the teak. Burmese teak starts from $12.95-19.95 per bd ft in retail ( 10 bd ft) and no one can sell lower. Other plantation teak vary from $6-9 per bd ft. The so called teak ( actually not teak) such as Cumaru (known as Brazilian teak), Iroko (Known as african teak) will cost $5-$7 per bd ft.

However boat/yact applications exclusively use Burmese teak and this is the best teak available in the world and I quoted for that teak.

Can you please specify the type of teak you got it. I appreciate your response.

Regards
