The Bulldog is one of the best motors shortblock wise to ever come out of Merc . It's a hand built "tall" deck Bowtie block with a 4340 Lunati crank, Manley H beam rods, blower pistons (low CR), etc...
It is a 4.44 bore X 4.375 stroke as stock but soon to be a 4.560 bore and 572 c.i. on this one
I also understand that this is the same short block used on the 850SCi and 1075SCi bored to 4.5 for ~557ci.

Nordic,
There is a guy on Speedwake that is "freshing 2 x Bulldogs. He has a thread in the technical section. You may want to e-mail him and get "hard evidence" of what is in the Bulldog.

"I need to know the rod length in a Bulldog!!"

I'm trying to price out pistons for a rebuild on a clients motor. Just wondering if they will be off the shelf JE stuff or custom order.
Thanks,
Dave
"I don't have a Bulldog but my friend has a German Shepherd and he wont let me measure him ! " Good thing you clarified that one !!!

Dave,
The piston is Wiseco (Merc part #) and the connecting rod is a Manley +.400" / 6.535".
