It is possible that pintle"float " occurs where a combination of high pressure and high rpm usage overcomes the injector spring's ability to close the pintle, which would result in overrichening at high rpms.

I think the Injector could lock open or closed, causing RICH or LEAN condition !

again.. suppose ANYTHING possible... but have never seen either documentable occurance in a serviceable injector like that. have had people zap em w/ hi voltage to " test them" and fuse them... have had them fail both full open and closed but only as random failures and not related to fuel pressure in any way... the ones we ran at extremely high pressure lasted just as long as any others with no failure rate that could be considered abnormal. in my experience, the injectors themselves are probably the single MOST reliable componet in the system and are insensitive to even extreme fuel pressures...

bob at vortech may have a different reason or take on this but thats my experience... be interesting if someone that knows him might ask him why he says that. maybe something to learn here
