What cam did he recomend?

Here is the one I am considering
ground on a 114http://www.cranecams.com/?show=brows...tType=camshaft

Trying to get as close to 1200 on pump gas.
I would settle for 1100-1150

Caveman,
I have used that cam in many supercharged applications. Very good choice for a 540-557 cu.in. package with big chief heads, 8.2-8.5:1 comp., 7 plus psi boost . The next choice down I would go maybe 2 degrees less on both int. and ex. You will make the power you want. Thanks,

Dean Gellner

I looked at that cam too, but I really wanted to take a stab at optimizing valve events for the centrifugal system. We ended up with less duration than you might think and found that we could not use anyone's master lobes. So the cam is CNC ground. We will test to see how it compares.

I don't think you'll be dissapointed. Rm builder specc'd my hydraulic roller cam and it was barely bigger than what I was previously running BUT I told him I wanted to make 900 hp around at 5600-5700,he looked at my combo I was planning on using, did some number crunching and said the cam he had ground for me should make 925-950 hp around 5600-5700 and idle almost like a stocker. When I dynoed it we made 942 hp at 5700 so he was DEAD on,Smitty

Tom, Have you done any 557cu 8.5 to one big chiefs with your setup?

What power would you exspect?

I was going to grab some 206B,s and run 15lbs.
Can you change my mind?

Thanks
Gerry.

The twin blower setup is on the way to Sterling right now to be tested on one of his 557 Big Chief engines. Currently he uses PSI or quad rotors to make 1500 HP. I have a good idea what we are going to make but I'm keeping that to myself for now... What's a 206B?
