Rebuild Gimbal - Special Tools?
Are there any special tools or "secret" procedures required to replace the gimbal bushings for up/down tilt and left/right steering?
I've got the transom assemblies off the boat so it looks pretty straight forward.
Thanks,
Jeff

GIVE ME MORE INFO year model ect and Ill pull up the page from merc but you are better off just letting some one with exp do it.... tools you will need depending on model are hinge pin tool, tourqe wrench, bushing installers/ drivers, steering pin kit ect......
make shure you follow the directions to the tee or you could end up with major problems It is not as easy as it looks although alot easier with the assy off the boat

Nothing a Clymer’s repair manual can’t help you with. Cost about $35

One of the tools you actually can't live without is the driver for the plastic insert that holds the water hose. Ive pretty much made all my own over the years. Transom assembly is not too bad. The upper swivel shaft bushing can be fun as it is blind but there are a couple tricks for that.
