Default Transoms

I need advice from you guys on what to do with my transoms,I have completley rebuild them, all new seals, bushing, and stainless steel pivot pins.I now want to upgrade bravo ones to XR drives.I was told I should also run the hp transoms. What are the differences between the stock transoms and the HPs.I know the HP have no trim indicators. Are the rings any stronger? Is the housing stronger or the same?Could I run an Imco ring on my stock unit and have the same results?

Thanks Nordic95

the hp ring is a little heavier and use a non theaded hinge the pin instead of the threaded one, as for Imco rings they are heavier then the hp merc ring and thats the way I would go !

Is the transom unit itself the same with the only difference in a HD ring?

Thats what I was wondering too.But I just got off the phone ordering two brand new HPs transoms.I was going to use the ones I just spent two weeks and a ton of money working on,but then I pulled the trigger.O well its only money right!!!!I just feel that with all the work I have done to this piece of fiberglass why skip out on good parts now.

Thanks Nordic95
