I had started this thread and have to admit- that lift is outstanding for the money the hydraulic jack makes it prefect especially at a great price I like my design because of the use of my atv lift but as a single purpose lift this lift is great.
yardarm make a nice commercial product but in the spirit of the diy nature of this forum this lift wins

nice job

This is the second version of my drive stand. This one is 2" thin wall box tubing and a tounge jack. It works great for both alphas and bravos.

Gizmo,
That is very slick. Are you selling them?

I kind of wish I could see the pictures, but this thread gives me an idea anyway. I have an ATV lift, I think with a little bit of angle iron I could make myself a pretty decent outdrive lift.

That's an awesome idea, I like it alot!

For me (have rocks and grass near my boat) I'd probably go with some air filled casters.

Very slick!

I haven't considered selling them. It was just one of those things that I needed and it was simple. If you can weld or have someone weld it for you, I will send the demensions to you in an e-mail. Be patient, I have been working a lot of overtime lately. I think it took about two hours to cut out and weld it together. It was primed and painted with cans.
I mentioned that this was the second version. The first one was made using a tongue jack with a round housing. It lifted the drives well, wanted to rotate, throwing the balance off. the square tongue jack is more heavy duty, also.

Gizmo,
I can weld, pretty good actually. But like you, I've been working a lot and just don't have the time. I've built quite a few engine display stands, work benches etc. in the past, but I can't find the time anymore. I would love to build some but at this point, I need one and I would just rather buy it. Thanks, Eddie.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. If I had the time I would build a few, but time is real short for me right now. maybe after the new year rush, I will slow down.
