Default Window films on Plexiglass?

I have a cabin entry door and port hatch that has crazed from improper cleaning solutions or sun exposure. In any case I want to tidy up the appearance some.

What options do I have short of replacement? Light transmission is not an issue. Painting seems it could be a PITA and then you have the issue of a scratch.

I investigated window films and have come to the conclusion they do not recommend applying to Plexiglas. Reasons range from heat expansion to adhesives etc. There are the static cling varieties but they seem pretty fragile.

Recommendations for painting?
Has anyone found a window film that will apply to Plexiglas?
Other options?

The window film seems like an easy way to go. Brings it all back to one visual color and if it were damaged just replace it again. It seems there would be a variety that can be applied to Plexiglas.

Any thoughts?

Take it out and take it to a sign shop and have them cover it in vinyl, the vinyl is used for sign letters. You can get it in all colors and its pretty durable.

I think you can just polish that with plastic polish and high grain sand paper.

They use the polish on the aircraft lights.

On my 31PC formula the cabin door was smoked plexi and it got extremely hot in the sun. I ended up getting a sheet of white vinyl cut the proper size and installed it. It has seen 2 summers and is holding up well.

Otherwise Novus makes a plastic polish and cleaners that the professionals use, I use the Novus cleaner on my Isenglass works great.

I went around to look at some vinyl today. It looks like the way to go. A board member has offered some assistance which I will use if I go this route. I have a couple of other irons in the fire at the moment that prevent me from getting to this right away but now I have plan.
