Default Safe rpms

What is a sfe rpms for 525 efi with whipples?Dustin says to turn them 6000 and when summer gets here it will still turn about 5700-5800.Is this to high for stock 525's.Old rev limiter was set a 5450 and dustin says he's test that the 525 was still building power at 6000- and set the rev at 6200.I think its to high and want the rev set at 5800.Am i wrong ?

I think that you should have them set at 3500 rpm, that should be perfect!!!! I should be able to run right with you at that. Motors will live all summer...........

Stock prop range is 4600-5200 if you didn't change the valve train and do a bunch of work in the bottom end I would stay down under 6,000 It may mean the difference between floating at the dock and boating all summer.

After re-reading your post, are you using the rev-limiters to control wide open throttle rpm? Or does he want you to prop it to turn 6,000 rpm's ? Ed

Prop it to turn 6000 plus it still was building power at 6200.
