Gentlemen ...........leave the galvanized coating on ........zinc is great and helps minimize corrosion........blast rusted areas to remove rust.......then "brush blast" galvanized surfaces to dull the surface. This is best done with a fine grit # 60 - 100 - Prime all surface with epoxy - going over zinc ( galvanize with zinc paint is not a good use of $$$) topcoat with polyurethane - (Do not paint a galvanized surface with alkyd paint ) sure any remaining galvanized surface patterns throught the paint but your not going to get laid with a good looking traile - the chicks will run if you have a rusty trailer -
