Prop shaft Depth below keel....Step HUll VS Non Step

I know this sounds kind of wierd but do you meassure it the same way or do you take it from the front step on a step hull.
What I am asking or saying that is .......If you have a twin step hull boat with each step beeing 1 1/2 inches up recessed that equalls 3 inches at the aft running surface higher than where it begins, right, follow me ? So at the back of the boat where the running surface meets the transom or the back of the pad you have the propshaft depth 8 inches below the pad bottom, but in all actuallity it is really only 5 inches below the lowest point on the hull , make sense? so if you take this dimention and subtract 2 inches with a shorty you are now only 3 inches below the lowest point on the keel and in my book that is a high prop shaft height, no? Does any of this make sense?

I can see on a deep v that it is pretty straight forward.....where the keel meets the transom it is the lowest part.

Now on a stepped v with a notched transom how does this work?

What are some standard depths on the following?
Twin step
Deep V
Step with notch?
Can any one help me with this?

Bryan

All measured the same way. From the bottom of the keel at furthest aft point.
