Default Help! water in my drive oil

Hi guys,
I just sent one of myTRS drives to the shop to have a few items replaced oil seal, bearings, thrust ring, shims etc. This drive sucked water into the lube last season and maybe these parts being replaced will cure the problem (there was also some side to side play that needed attention) I've noticed two other things: the drain plug didn't have a correct washer on it (I'm hoping that's the problem) and I'm wondering if the check valve that feeds the oil from the reservoir could be the culprit in blowing water into the drive oil. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Jeff

the reason I was asking here is that I'm unsure about what role the receptor portion of the check valve assembly might play in providing water entrance into the gear oil; do you have any experiences relating to this item?, thanks- Jeff

I had water in my drives... it was getting in from the seal in front of the propellor.

Thanks Joe,
I appreciate all the tips you send our way. There's a real gap in experience out here in Oregon. -
