Clarion Remote no LCD

I upgraded my remotes from a cmrc2 to the CMRC1 -BSS.
All the functions work but the read out just shows up blank. Anyone out there know what I could be doing wrong? It seems to be hooked up correctly , but I could be wrong.

Re: Clarion Remote no LCD

The older decks aren't always compatable with the newer remotes.

Those should be compatable. I would check and see if you bent any pins on the bus connection. Other than that one or the other may be faulty. The installation is pretty much straight foward, bus cable from deck to extension cable, extension cable to remote, power from light switch, ground to battery. As long as your bus cable is plugged in it should work, the power and ground are only for the light.

Oh, one more thing to try, sometimes when you add a changer or sat. radio to a deck you have to cut the power to them before they recognize the new source. I don't recall having to do that with Clarion remotes but it's worth a try. Just unplug the wiring harness from the deck for a couple of minutes and plug it back in.

Re: Clarion Remote no LCD

Thanks for the help. Seems the extention wire in the boat was not set up for the new remotes. only three pin. Replaced it with a six pin and all is well
