Default drive fluid dripping from water pickup....

After sitting last week I noticed a very small puddle of drive oil under one drive. It is coming from the water pickup holes on the side of the drive. It has not lost much fluid at all, may 1/4 in in the bottle. In the water it did not leak the week before. The drived were just off for a repaint this spring and the boat has only been in the water a couple times. I am assuming I have a bad seal but which one? Can anyone point me in the right direction? It is a 1998 Bravo 1 drive.

Thanks

Possibly a O-ring between the two drive sections. Had a guy here with lube dripping from the speedo pick-up, resolved after replacing the o-rings.

How are the 27 mirage props working out for you?

From what I remember there are seals between the upp and lowers, is there any other seal that could be the cause?

Sold the 27's, running 28's.

most of the time when drive oil is dripping out the water pick up it is the o ring between the upper and lower

There are two orings and a seal that is called a Quad seal. I would replace all three, and make sure the surfaces they mate with are clean, no nicks or bumps, etc..

Hope this helps..

The one front O-ring is for the speed-o pickup right? The two back a little further are for water and oil right? I have a nose cone so the speed-o pickup should not be an issue.

The fat one is for the speedo, then there is a large one that isolates the water pickup and in that one is the quad seal, isolating the oil passage, then there is the oring around the vertical shaft.. that is an oil cavity
