found - good source for marine wire, etc

I'm in the process of re-rigging my Pantera. I was getting ready to head down to Boaters World for some triplex wire for the k-planes and trim. BW sells a 100ft spool of 14/3 triplex for $129. This place (http://stores.ebay.com/Genuinedealz) has the same thing for $50.44. Shpping is pretty reasonable, too. They also have a non-ebay store (http://stores.channeladvisor.com/genuinedealz).

I have ordered from GenuineDeals a couple of times and they ship fast and are quick to answer questions. Another site that also has great prices on wire is www.bestboatwire.com

I'm a big fan of www.bestboatwire.com (also).
They ship out of Florida, same day (usually) and really good customer service.

Re: found - good source for marine wire, etc

When I read this post i thought.... great a place to buy wire and cable and a few terminal blocks. I made up an order that came to almost $300.00. I sent B.B.W an email to ask if I could use my own shipping account number. I receive a reply that said no problem but they would charge me a HANDLING FEE....WTF. I am so tired of companies F****** people with little extra charges. If you arn't making a profit on your product raise your prices.

I also will not buy from companies that charge a fee for using a Credit Card. Here in Texas it is Illegal to charge a person a fee to use a CC or Debit Card.

Off my soapbox now

Re: found - good source for marine wire, etc

My stuff from Genuinedealz totaled $111.15 and my shipping was $11.60. I chose to have it sent through USPS Priority mail. UPS may have been a few dollars less, I can't remember. I'm pretty sure that Genuinedealz charges by weight. I ordered late Sunday and added something to my order Monday morning about 8:45AM. It went out that afternoon and I had it Wednesday. I checked the USPS website to see what a 15lb priority mail package from 40204 to 37932 would cost. It showed $11.65

An outfit like that would generate a ups label and automatically schedule when you place the order. In order to use your account, someone has to take the information and fill out a separate label then call and schedule it, probably a real PITA, I'm impressed that they would be prepared to do that even with a small fee.

In this case they would have been better off saying that they couldn't do it.

Generally I totally agree about the handling charge thing and the BS credit card add-on's.

Get hit with them everytime I pay UH tuition fees online for my two college kids.
