The tank has been drained twice and I still see residue. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel but this has been a big hassle.

By the way, no issues this year until I put my first tank of E10 in.....
Thanks man. I didn't think it was just me.
My boat is an 87, and I had no fuel issues for the last couple years at all.
This spring I mixed E10 into the tank and 20 years of varnish have come home to roost in my carbs.

Just think of how clean my tank will be someday.

Although I have heard about the problems with ethonal in marine engines that was an interesting article. Freinds & fellow boaters at our marina are complaining too of replacing fuel filters (some have been through 6 this season already), but also, they are complaining of losing at least 2-3 mph. Just dropped my boat in the water after rigging new engines, so cannot speak from experience yet, but did put octane booster in the tank yesterday just in case. Anyone else tried that, if so, any results?

You know... octane booster often has alcohol (ethanol) in it as well...
