outdrives for new purchase.
I've just purchased a "new" boat last month. It's a 85 Scarab II. The motors are at the machine shop, 454's, 465 horse.
I have trs speedmaster outdrives, and have been told both; that they are the correct drives, or that they will be 5 inches to long and about 10 mph slower. Does anyone have a suggestion as to the correct drives, or the correct measurements from transom cutouts to bottom of boat.
help please.

did the boat originally have TRSs and you're putting on SSMs? or were the SSMs already on the boat (factory installed)? there's a wealth of info and knowledgeable guys on this site who should have all the dope on X dimensions, etc. seems a little extreme that your boat would be predicted to lose 10mph w/speedmasters. -Jeff

Re: outdrives for new purchase.
boat was a theft recovery. Anything that could be unbolted, was. I had engines , bought bw trans and ssm from seller of boat. I'm just now building it. I still have list of missing pieces, but should be floating next month. One of my venders told me that the ssm's were the wrong units for my boat so I'm just following up on it.
