Default code reader

i hope some one can help i would like to know i i can use a auto code reader on a mercruiser obd1 or obd2 thanks in advance

Well, there is no such thing as Mercruiser OBD 1 or 2. Maybe you mean MEFI1 or 2. In any event an automotive code/scan tool will not work with marine systems. You can make a marine code reader with a LED light and paperclip. More info in the link below.
