Lofty....very sweet 8.8 with nice updates. I always liked this model, and prefer the lines much more than the 32's.

1/2 the time we plan on boating on lake michigan it is too nasty for my boat (272 baja),when wind is coming out of the west or south west you easily will have REAL 2- 3 footers to 3-5 footers and when its kicking BIG SEAS. A 29 fountain is slightly bigger than my boat but not enough for that stuff. Obviously you have to start somewhere but a 29 foot beak boat gets small out there quick and is going to pound the crap out of you 1/2 to 2/3rd's of the time,Smitty

Get a larger boat than the 29. I had one with 468s making 650 horse and it was a handfull. Chine walk in the middle 80's that you could learn to drive through but not for a beginner.

Thanks for the compliments guys! It's been a fun boat to update and more fun to run.

Lofty - I'm not a Fountain guy, but your's does look sweet. I appreciate someone who values what they have, and takes pride in it. Way to go!

cwhite - I'm chiming in with the others on the speed issue. I'd stay between 25 and 30 foot, with a top end of 70mph for 2 seasons. Then see if you like it and step up! Best of luck to you! D911
