Default buying new drive, what ratio should i get?

i am buying a new drive and i dont what ratio my old one was. it has been painted so many times and i cant see any numbers on it. its a bravo one and its hooked to a 450hp 454 and it goes into a 1990 baja 226es.and with the old drive it was a steedy 70mph boat. i hope that helps, thanks

Its probably a 1.50 gear ratio. Doubt it would be a 1.36 what pitch prop are you running?

Bet it was a 1.5, Remove spark plugs and roll over by hand, count prop turns.

It should be a 1.50 ratio and even if its not, you should get a 1.50.

i was running a 23p rev 4 at 4800-4900rpms trimmed out.i cant spin the motor and count the rev. b/c i the reason i am replaceing the drive is i hit some rocks with the drive and cleaned it rite off the back of the boat . so now there is no drive on the boat just a broken transom ass. i am getting ready to order a new drive and transom so mybe if i am lucky i can sneek one ride in b4 winter. thanks for the info guys
