HE HAS MORE IN THAT ENGINE JUST HAS TO FIND WHAT IS SLOWING HIM DOWN.

Yup mine leans a little but only at lower speeds like around 30-35 MPH. After that I don't notice much/any leaning.

Gaining a 1K and not more speed is wierd for sure. I've found that going from 1 prop to another can make a huge difference. But a 23 3 blade and 24 4 blade the speeds should be withing a few MPH and RPMs within a couple/few hundred of each other. Might wanna check you tach and or wiring to be sure all is ok.

If you find that you turn a 23 at 5500, try a 23 Plus or a 25 non plus (old style mirage) and see what they do. Likely more speed than a 4 blade will yield, at least that's the way it is on mine.

You/me/we are hijacking this guys thread so ya mght wanna think about starting another one if you want to continue.

Good luck on Friday and have a blast !!

I have to agree. There are guys with 330 hp motors in this light narrow beam boat that are 5mph faster than me!? This is not a tug. There is a lot more in there.....

I have played with the Advance from 32-38 netted nothing

Plug color is good so have not played with jetting.

Props same pitch 3 blade and 4 blade.4 handled better but 1mph slower than the 3 blade mirage plus.

I dont know any one using these Gil (the previous owner installed them he said they where Gils)muffles. They seem restrictive. can they be 500-1000 rpms restrictive. I dont know? I never had anything else on here. Since Got this boat I have bumped the speed up 8mph from the disappointing 51 from when I bought it. Slip % is horrendous.

Worry about your bottom paint 1st. Same time just make sure your engine tune is correct.

Always deal with known issues first. Then go from there.

STEP 1 GO TO STORE BUY EASY OFF OVEN CLEANER
STEP 2 PICK UP CASE OF BEER
STEP 3 FIND A NICE FOAM PAD THAT YOU CAN LAY ON
STEP 4 SPRAY OVEN CLEANER ON BOTTOM ABOUT 10 SQFT AT A TIME LET SIT ABOUT 30 MINS THEN SCRUB WITH WIRE BRUSH
SPRAY OFF WITH PRESSURE WASHER
REPEAT

I'm very interested in the final results here. Please post them. It's a good hull yes!!! albeit 16 year old technology. Take a look at the speeds on that hull with the original motors at 330 to 450 HP or so. You've also got to consider what that hull will do with approx 600 HP which should be about what he's got. For every extra 100 HP over 330 in my 89' Arriva 252 I got approx 4 MPH. At 850 blown hp, I'm in the high 70's, low 80's. Watching this thread I'll apply all I learn regarding these hull mods.
