Re: Upgrades to 502 MPI's
Mike,
Thanks. Has anyone added Gil headers, and what cam change (more aggresive cam) did you have (without the reversion problem)?

Re: Upgrades to 502 MPI's
I have put some E Tops, 230@ 50 and 600 lift cam, had one ground on a 114 blank and installed at 110 centreline. High flow air filter, mild port job and copied Az speeds intake modifications. then just did a very careful build up, all ports matched and just set up nice with lots of care. Marc at Procision marine did the ecu. 495HP at 5500 rpm in a 454 gen VI. Your 502 should pull 520-530 with the same treatment. The big thing is a very carefull and time consuming build up. Make sure you remove the injectors and lube and store. Mine seized and i spent many hours trying to figure out why it wouldnt start. Spend lots on intake manifold and exaust ports. You can half full the intake ports with epoxy and there is no diference in flow. Time the cam perfect with the best chain you can buy with german chain. Quality roller rockers. You need to do a nice job of unshrouding the valves on the bowls. Big wake up there. Now heres the big one. Kendalls 20-50 racing oil only. Good luck with your build. Jason
