Pulling Sadle tanks
I have a 1990 42 cigarette rev. The boat has 6 fuel tanks, 2 under the floor and 4 saddle tanks in the engine compartment. I want to pull two of the saddle tanks out I never use them and it would save on weight. The boat is a staggered set up. They look like they are just foamed and bolted in. Has anyone removed them before? Is it a huge project? And which 2 should I remove (rear or center) ? Thanks Heath

Re: Pulling Sadle tanks
Cut the foam with long sawzall blades...get chopping and use a forklift or set of forks over side to pull up on from tank brackets....sometimes they go easy...sometimes you have to lift and jerk....and tie the boat down to the trailer....i did saddle tanks.....and i would never remove a tank if it was a good one....your not saving anything..and you will need extra if you break one..you need to see how the boat rides prior to making a decision on what tanks to run filled...
