Default Gear change on a Number six

How difficult is it to change the gear ratio on Number Sixes? I want to go to 1.35 from the 1.24.

Its Collabella(sp?)
To change it yourself, you need the tools. From what I understand, Merc now only sells the tools in a package to do all of the speedmaster drives. I think it is around $7500. Not worth it unless you are doing a bunch of them.

I know someone local who might be able to help. I'll check with him and post up tomorrow.

www.offshore-performance.com in MD. They have the tools; and John Smith aka Pwrbt33 here on OSO is a Certified Mercury VI drive master technician. He REALLY knows his stuff. He has been rigging/building/fixing 800-1500HP setups for several years; and he is more than friendly.

Brad,
You know a guy named George who is local. He has a shop in Fox lake. He does not do 6 drives but he knows somebody who does and can hook you up with him. Give George a call at 630-240-5401.
