amplifer question
I purchased USED (2) nice Polk Audio amps (had to buy both). Both are 4-channel 400 watt amps # C.400.4
I want to use one amp to power (4) Polk Audio speakers in the cockpit. Is there a way I can use the other amp for a sub? (bridge?) or ?
I am not looking for something that is going to break windows, just something nicer than stock. If I can, is it possible to install the sub under the rear seat in the same (air) as (2) of the main speakers? or does the sub need to be isolated from the other speakers?
Boat has two batteries, if I can use both amps, do you suggest I power both amps off of ONE battery? or?
It has been a while since my high school days installing car stereos..
Thanks everyone!!

The amp is a 4/3/2 channel amp. So I would run your 4 speakers in the cockpit with one of the amps. You then could bridge the other amp down to 2 channels and run a set of subs.
I would not run subs in the same air space as a set of 6.5" or 6x9" speakers. Real chance of the subs blowing the other speakers up.
If you not planning on adding a dedicated amp for the audio system, I would power both amps off of one battery. Use one to power the audio, the other as your starter battery.
