Dock Flotation Question
 

I am looking for encapsulated flotation for my dock. I have regular styrofoam now and I am losing pieces. I would like to redo everything with encapsulated but I am unsure of what kind to buy. Has anyone heard of Dock Buoy? It seems to be the best priced. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance

I bought some of Overtons brand. They were very high quality and I have been happy with them. They were expensive and expensive to ship.

I did overtons as well. Expensive plus shipping. They were odd sizes as well, had to trim edges here and there to make fit but they work great. They are styrofoam encased in heavy black plastic, so even if they ever leak a little, no big deal.

You should try to get plastic floats filled with styrofoam or some other material. I built a large floating dock last year, used DockEdge flotation (Howell 400) that have worked very well, except they are simply air inside and I'm pretty sure that one has punctured over the winter due to ice movement. If they were filled with styorfoam, etc, it wouldn't fill up with water. Good luck.

Does anyone know about Dock Buoy flotation specifically?

can you just cut a hole in it and fill it with something like the foam you pour around gas tanks?? or theres the poor mans blue plastic barrels/drums...

if its for a pond, you can use the plastic drums but most lakes have restrictions against them now.. if you need some drums for a project, let me know.. ive a ton of them at my warehouse..
