GPS Speedo 1998 Fountain Fever 27
Okay, I have used up all my patience trying to clean out the pilot tube for my old Gaffrig liquid filled speedo and am looking at Gaffrig gps speedos. I am assuming, not having measured, that my old analog speedo is in a 4" hole? I am also assuming that to use Gaffrigs 4 5/8" gps speedo I would have to modify the gauge panel ? I know Trick Marine offers a 3 3/8" gauge with the proper bezel adapter. Is this the best route to go without cutting? Also how and where is the easiest way to plug/remove the pilot tube? the pickup is in the drive unit. Any suggestions and ideas would be helpful and greatly appreciated...

Welp, there is a pipe plug you can install in the transom assembly if you decide to remove the fitting on the inside. If you do the easy route just remove the fitting from the drive or pitot tube and tie rap the hose back. This way no water is forced up the hose and put a plug in the end of the hose at the speedo with a clamp on it. As far as the speedo, there should be a replacement speedo to fit in that hole.
