hey smitty, is that photo of your own setup ? if so let me make a suggestion please... a long time ago an engineer from a manufacturer of data equipment told me that if i stopped hard mounting the sending units ( like your fuel pressure in the pic) i would get a lot more accurate output and a LOT longer service life . what he wanted me to do was put the sending unit at the end of a short piece of hose and soft mount the sending unit... in my case that meant a tie wrap w/ a piece of taped foam...
he was right. sending unit failure essentially disappeared and all the hysterisis in the data disappeared.

I don't get any bounce on my gauge BUT I'm sending fuel from my pump thru a large cooler thru -10 hose to regulator, goes thru full port fittings to twin -8 hoses to rail then bleeding off extra fuel back to inlet side of water seperator/filter so there is probably alot of dampening effect from the hoses and distance between fuel pump,Smitty

I'm with mbjm, weldon 600a for a 650 hp 540.
Pump works great, absolutely no problems in 3 years.
mbj, does your pump have the Japanese writing on the back?I asked the place I bought mine from about it, kiddingly asked if all weldon pumps were made in Japan. They (Kinsler fuel injection) said that they asked weldon about it and weldon said that it said "made in America". THose guys at weldon make great pumps AND have a sense of humor!
