The other thing to look at is what volatge the TV is OUT of the ocnverter box. Mine in my PQ was a 12v TV so I just cut the converter box off the cord and wired it into the braker panle and have eliminated the inveter alltogethr for the TV and DVD player.

SOmething else to check

true enough about the mod sine wave but having said that, i have many in service of each type w/ no interference of any kind... and we aren't talking hi end complex electronics here... just your basic transformer power supplies... i could be wrong but it sounds like a " like frequency" rfi issue... you have another device "broadcasting " and your device is listening... but who knows... im betting its something simple like a bad ground somewhere. with your backround you know how to chase this stuff im sure.

Well, sure enough, the t.v. does run off of 12V. Little oversight there...... Either way, here's what i found. I got a high quality shielded video cable for ps2 video input to tv. Tried, and the noise was gone. I thought, cool, that was easy. So for the hell of it, and so i could show my buddy the noise with the junk cables, i plugged the walmart garbage back in. Tried it, and still no noise. Well, wtf............

I did find the boat that night with two dead batteries, as i had left the stereo system on accidentally, just not audible, for 24 hours. Left my batteries at about 8 volts. oops. So i had a charger on it. I ended up putting the hight quality cable back in, and leaving it as that. Even once the batteries had sufficient voltage to run the inverter by itself, i tested, no noise. So, don't know? Don't know if the noise is gone for good or not. Time will tell, i am doing an overnighter on it this weekend, and will be running the equipment. Thanks for the input guys.
