496 HO broken intake valve spring
here's the deal, the motor turned off as soon as I put it on the trailer, turned it back on it did not idle well so turned it right off just in case. I just did a compression test and I had zero compression on one piston,I removed the valve cover and found an intake valve spring broken, now the million dollar question ? should I replace the spring with out removing the head, or should I remove it and inspect the piston for possible contact?

if you can hold all the pieces of the spring in your hand, then replace the spring w/out taking the head off and check the lash and leakdown. if it were mine and the leakdown was good w/ no intake leakage, i would run it.... but having said that, nothing happens for no reason...
i would also have a very good think about why it may have failed and replace all the others as well.

It has a head upgrade with only 20 hrs on it I think it was just bad spring, but I think I will try to replace it by filling the piston with compressed air and then do a leak dawon and see what I get.
