Hey Smitty,
Those are impressive numbers. Better be gentle with the sticks.

I had the option of going as far as 4.630 on my bore but chose to stay at 4.500,I would rather have stabil cylinder walls with less distortion and run more boost then go for a few more cubes. My blower is past its rating already so if motor was signifigantly bigger It would have probably made the same amount of power and flattened out early without investing in the next size blower or the intake runner size may have choked it off too,Smitty

I have 14 hours on the motor now, boat runs 76-78 mph gps N/A turning labbed 26 pitch merc 5500 rpms. Boat ran 97 mph gps today turning 32 labbed around 6100 with the medium pulleys that made 1057 on the dyno (hard to watch the tach much). I have been thru msd hell with the msd marine boxes, the third new one showed up friday,I have bought a msd ignition tester, the newest box was DOA,after tapping on it and wiggling the wiring harness trying to run it with the tester I could get it to spark intermittintly and it would short out the tester after 5 or 10 seconds, calling msd/jegs AGAIN in the morning- DON't BUY A 6560 ml-2 box! So I was testing today AGAIN running the stock ignition. Boat is real spooky running by myself (which I rarely do),saw 94-95 gps on short burst, my son and his friend showed up at the ramp and I was able to use them to balance out the boat and saw 97 mph,Smitty

Go ahead and hit 100 mph, take a picture and slow down. That thing is going to take flight!

Hi Smitty:

I missed this thread when it first went up. Congrats on the good R&D!. For comparison one of our customers made 1000 HP @ 6000 RPM with a short deck 540 on JimKid's dyno in Detroit. He used an Rtech supercooler on Holley EFI intake with FAST injection. Saw 9.5-10 psi with the older big M3, sorry don't remember the pulley but it seemed big to me. I would say the Holley intake is better at this RPM but a comparison of the curves is called for. He used ported iron heads and a solid roller cam so I would expect your heads/cam/intake to have more midrange. Take care.
