I took it to a friend that worked at a metal fabrication shop and he filled in the aluminum. I machined it out myself but you could take it to a machine shop.

Yes, it has twin 454's. What tools did you use to machine it back to the original shape once you had it filled in?

I have a good used HP gimble ring with no wear ... I have ext hydraulic steering. Fresh water only, no corrosion. Needs to be drilled and tapped for hinge pins (older smaller screws snapped off, new style uses 4 bigger bolts) and a fresh coat of paint.

How much do you want for it? Does the external hyd. steering have everything to hook it up? Thank you.

Does anyone have a picture or copy of the area that needs to be cut out to get access to the top nut as shown on jrmarine's website? If so can you please email me a copy? I then need to know how wid the area is and I can resize it to the original size/width/height. I got the tools from a trech at work today to do the 2 plugs on each side tomorrow but I cannot get access to the outer sides on each drive to drill them out. Heres a link to pics of the boat so you know what I am talking about. The steps on the back are too close. http://www.lakewideyachtbrokerage.com/1507.htm
Thank you.

Brandon,

I would take $250 for it. I think they are almost $1000 new. It is just the ring or horse collar. The steering does not attach to it. I can send a photo if you are still interested.

Thank you but I just don't have the cash right now. I think I will see if someone local can fix mine.
