I had two friends with these motors with the exact problem, turned out to be the impeller inside the water pump was not keeping up with satisfactory pressure and it would kick the alarm. Im not talking about your sea water rubber impeller, talking about the engine block mounted water pump. The gauges all read fine chased this problem for a month until they found it and both were fixed.
